High Spirits Choir

Looking for something more challenging?

High Spirits sings a varied, uplifting and sometimes demanding repertoire from folk songs to classical, gospel to jazz to show tunes. We enjoy poly-rhythms and layered harmonies.

The selection of songs varies from one season to the next, but is always eclectic and always fun.

Started in 1993 around Ieva’s piano, High Spirits has grown to be one of the best community choirs in Vancouver. We perform at concerts, festivals, and nursing homes, bringing delight to our audiences

Reading music is an asset, a good ear and choral experience are a must. Practice tracks are provided, and singers are expected to be fairly independent in learning their parts.

If you would like to sing with High Spirits, check out the High Spirits website www.highspiritschoir.ca and contact our membership coordinator, at highspiritschoirmembership@gmail.com

We meet on Wednesday evenings in South Vancouver, from 7 – 9:30
We have section practices three times per term, and once per term we have a one-day workshop with a master teacher/conductor.

Hear us on Youtube.

Please avoid odours, even pleasant ones, at lessons, classes, choir and performances. Perfume, essential oils, hairspray, residual smoke or alcohol, can be troublesome, especially for those with allergies.
